Utility Week Live plays host to flood defenders!

Adler and Allan will be showcasing its flood protection and asset management services, which protect some of the UK’s key utility-based assets, at Utility Week Live exhibition, taking place at the NEC Birmingham, 21st-23rd April 2015.

This new exhibition and range of conferences, has been devised to provide all the learning, information and contacts needed to meet the challenges of running a modern utility company.

On stand D16, Adler and Allan’s team of experts will be on-hand to talk through its newest defence system, JBAR, which acts as a permanent solution to stopping flood water, as well as preventing spills entering ground and water courses. A unique, modular defence system, which is flexible in terms of length, height and shape configurations, JBAR is particularly suited to protecting assets such as utility compounds, sub-stations, external plant and associated structures.

The company’s range of protective coatings and lining’s offer fast, long-term asset resilience at a much lower cost than other more traditional methods, and when combined with JBAR can replace concrete bunds. The coatings help extend the life of assets while saving money on unnecessary replacements.

“With flooding becoming of increasing concern in the UK, talking to us could pay dividends for utility firms looking to protect their key assets”, said Alan Scrafton, Group Marketing Manager for Adler and Allan.

“Not only can we deliver emergency response in the event of environmental disaster, we can mitigate the effects in the first place. Our JBAR system can be used in conjunction with our range of protective coatings and linings delivering a long-term solution to flooding and hazardous spill containment.”

Adler and Allan’s services which help protect the utility sector, include:

  • Flood Risk Assessment
  • Flood Mitigation, including defences and (PPM) plans
  • Emergency flood and spill response
  • Post-flood/spill clean-up
  • Ground investigation and remediation
